Join a local river corridor walking nature tour at the Tule River Parkway in Porterville. Come and feast on the visual beauty of nature, the songs of birds, the scent of sage plants, and the peace that nature provides. Tours are available on Saturday October 12, November 9, and December 14. The walking tour begins at 9:30 a.m. and returns to the same location at 11.

Tule River Parkway Association is inviting the public to experience nature with us along the Tule River in Porterville. The walking tours are free to the public and led by experienced guides from the Association.

Expect to see and learn about the river, native plants, birds, and butterflies. We will walk along an ADA accessible path. The tours will explore the Tule River Parkway Native Plant Gardens and the parkway path which runs east and west from the gardens.

Meet your guide in the Jaye Street parking lot. The entrance is at the south end of the Tule River bridge as it crosses Jaye Street. The parking lot entrance is marked with a large green Tule River Parkway sign when traveling southbound over the river on Jaye Street.

The tour will return to the parking lot by 11 a.m. There will be chances to sit and rest during the walk. Wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. Contact Cathy Capone at 559-361-9164 for more information.

The Tule River Parkway Association is a local environmental nonprofit organization. We advocate for public access to the river corridor, remove trash, create aesthetic settings, and revegetate with plants which are native to the corridor. Learn more about the parkway and the Association at tuleriverparkwayassociation.org

Please be aware there are no restrooms in this park.
