B Corp Certified InsideAsia Tours, part of Inside Travel Group, has introduced a new travel style called “Cultural Adventure”, aiming to redefine experiential travel.

An antidote to overtourism, the new tours focus on lesser-known destinations and offer more personalised experiences.

InsideAsia has also launched a microsite to promote the fresh approach.

“Cultural adventure is a type of travel that goes beyond the guidebook and gets beneath the surface. It empowers travellers by offering genuine exposure to local life and culture; from the people to landscapes and food,” Inside Travel Group Co-founder Alastair Donnelly said.

“It is all about having organic experiences away from the crowds and encountering a way of life that couldn’t be more different from your own.”

According to the operator, trends indicate that travellers are seeking more off-the-beaten-path experiences over traditional package tours, with 92 per cent of Aussie travel providers reporting this shift in consumer preferences. InsideAsia’s new offerings are designed to meet this evolving demand.

“The concept of ‘slow travel’ is also increasing and we’re seeing that holiday-goers are placing more emphasis on immersing themselves into the destination and its culture – for longer periods of time,” Donnelly remarked.

“Since the conceptualisation of InsideAsia, the core focus has always been on what makes travel good and creates travel for good.

“We know that having a cultural adventure is what transforms merely seeing a country into truly experiencing it. It is the people that define places, and interactions with outstanding local guides, incredible craftspeople and vibrant communities that add depth to the destination.

“From the likes of Cambodia and Vietnam to emerging destinations on the scene such as South Korea, this multi-destination ‘Cultural Adventure’ campaign highlights how to get beneath the surface and away from the norm.”

Inside Travel Group Australia Sales Manager Nicole Newport said that cultural adventures seem to mean different things to different people.

“If you dream of making your own kroeung to flavour all your Cambodian curries, we know just the cookery master who’ll be only too happy to share their craft,” Newport said.

“Or, if you’d rather spend your time tracking down the next hidden temple after tucking into a third plate of beef lok lak, we’ll connect you with a team of conservationists to slip behind the scaffold at Angkor Wat, and show you how Cambodia’s emblematic temple is more than a building; it’s a sculpture.

“Cultural adventure is our style of travel, but yours will be unique to you.”

Inside Travel Group recently shared its first-ever Impact Report for 2022-23 as the group also marked its inaugural year as a Certified B Corp.
