Police have shut down sections of Geraldton city centre in Western Australia’s Mid West region after a man was found overnight suffering serious injuries.
Emergency services were called to Durlacher St in Geraldton shortly after 10pm on Wednesday after reports a man was found lying on the ground.
The man, aged in his 40, was rushed to Geraldton Regional Hospital with serious injuries before being flown to the Royal Perth Hospital for further treatment.
Police closed sections of the city centre for several hours on Thursday as part of their investigation, including Marine Terrace and Durlacher St.
The closures reportedly forced local businesses, including cafes and the library, to stay shut.
Detectives are urging anyone with any information relating to this incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
