The first project from Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) in Malaysia will be a master-planned Discovery City located within the Ibrahim Technolopolis (or IBTEC), a new 7,290-acre smart city in the southern state of Johor. While design details of the firm’s 582-acre contribution won’t be put forth in full until 2025, its initial announcement includes particulars such as a centerpiece cultural center (valued at appx. $62 million) and plans for strategies for renewable energy and water infrastructure. The project’s total value is equal to about $6.2 billion USD.
